Summary

Despite its excellent taste, the Rhine Valley bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is only of limited agronomic use due to its indeterminate growth type. By applying modern and innovative breeding methods, a regional, value-adding and mechanically harvestable protein plant should be bred within a short period of time. The project aims to integrate modern methods into the breeding schemes of breeders who are specialized in niche markets.
